Kids on TV x Lioness

Queer artists/musicians/weirdos Kids on TV have remixed fellow Canadians/dance-rock band Lioness‘ song “What You Do Will Come Back To You”. The Kids on TV remix extracts the voodoo from the original version to create a dark and witchy electronic warning shot that makes you wanna take heed of the lyrics and dance all possessed like. If commissioning this sweet remix didn’t convince you, Lioness seems like a pretty cool band. Singer Vanessa Fischer (besides having a pretty great voice) makes all of the costumes and the band collaborates to create all of the set designs, style and take the photos and make the videos for the project! Impressive.

Anyways, you can buy Lioness’ remix record Omens, Oracles and Signs – Vol. 2 (on New Romantic) here and check out a couple of remixes from the release below. Also, for good measure, watch the video and hear Vanessa Fischer’s guest vocals on MSTRKRFT’s “She’s Good for Business”!

Henry & Glenn Forever

What’s better than a comic book depicting a love affair between Glenn Danzig and Henry Rollins? A comic where lovers Danzig and Rollins have Daryl Hall and John Oates as Satanist neighbors!

Here’s the description from Microcosm Publishing:

Starring super-notorious musclebound punk/metaldudes Glenn Danzig and Henry Rollins (with a little help from super-notorious soft-rockdudes Hall and Oates) Henry & Glenn Forever is a love story to end all love stories! The premise of this Cantankerous Titles-released comic is explained at the front of the zine: “Henry and Glenn are very good ‘friends.’ They are also ‘room mates.’ Daryl and John live next door. They are satanists.” What follows is ultra-metal violence and cryfest diary entries, cringing self-doubt and mega-hilarious emo-meltdowns. Who knew Danzig was such a vulnerable, self-conscious sweety-pie? Who knew Rollins was such a caring spouse? Who knew Hall and Oates were so infernally evil—yet so considerate? Well, illustrating/writing team Igloo Tornado (featuring super-awesome comixdude Tom Neely) did and they kicked down 64 fully-illustrated pages with it. Genius on all fronts. Terrifyingly cute. Cutely terrifying. As the real-life Rollins says, quoted on the back cover, “Has Glenn seen this? Trust me, he would not be impressed.”

Kele Tour Dates/Video

We posted Kele‘s single “Tenderoni” from his upcoming debut solo album The Boxer last week, but now a video has been released so we’re posting that too! I’m not saying the video is bad, but it’s kind of funny to me. It seems like a total pop video with the light up dancers and all which is definitely not what I would’ve expected.

Either way, I love music videos in general and this song is growing on me.

Mater Suspiria Vision

Witch House – Ghost Drone – Haunted Disco Trance is how they describe themselves, but all I can really muster up to say about Mater Suspiria Vision is that it’s pure amazingness. First of all, Suspiria is one of my all time favorite movies, so using that in your band name equals an instant affinity for what you are doing. Second, just watch the videos. The videos are made for the band by Cosmotropia de Xam and are everything I want videos to be. Actually, the music, the art and everything else is everything I want it to be. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I can’t even begin to articulate how obsessed I am with this stuff.

Check out some of the videos here (and more here), a couple of remixes Mater Suspiria Vision did and the Zombie Rave Mixtape that I totally didn’t download in time!

Clap Your Hands

So we posted an awesome unofficial video for the Diplo remix of Sia’s “Clap Your Hands” a few days back, but thanks to RCRD LBL the song is now available for free! Even though I was sick as a dog I still managed to catch some of Sia‘s set at The Vic last week and she was awesome! Such an amazing voice and cute personality.
